Indian students should avoid studying in USA
Thousands of Indian born students go to USA for their higher education. State of India's higher education is poor and is corrupted with extreme levels of affirmative action and is mostly outdated. Indian students hence look at higher education in other countries as one way to upskill themselves and also to find opportunities to settle in developed countries.
But, lately USA has become a hostile place for Indian students. Donald Trump administration racially targeted Indian students and subjected them to lot of abrupt policy changes which included things like visa denials, lengthy processing delays in some cases even setting up fake universities through department of education to harass Indian students.
Indian students often do not know the American immigration laws and ways in which they will be humiliated and harassed once they arrive in USA.
- Indian students can not become citizens in USA anymore
- US Consulates arbitrarily reject visas of Indian students even after they have paid expensive tuition fees to foreign universities
- You will be called a parasite and job stealer by media and American racists
- You friends will get their greencards and citizenship but you wont !
- Tech companies work actively to enslave Indian born employees
As a student you must remember that you are not allowed by law to become a citizen in USA anymore. The first step towards US citizenship is “green card”. While American government is happy to take your/your employers money to sponsor you for a greencard and even approve it, it asks Indians to “wait” to receive their greencard. For students who will enter USA today this wait is for around 200 years. Yes. This is not a typo.
Also, US government of both the parties have defended this delay as “fair” and they will ask you to go back if you don’t like it. However this is something they will not tell you when to come to USA as student.
Also, this is only for Indian students. A Pakistani student does not have to wait for his green card.
Cato Institute of USA is a very reputed think tank in USA. They have written extensively about this racism against Indians here.
US Consulates arbitrarily reject visas of Indian students even after they have paid expensive tuition fees to foreign universities
Imagine applying to dozens of colleges and then even getting admit in one of the top universities in USA. Then going through the complex visa processing only to find that some Visa officer does not like you and rejects your visa application without giving any reason.
This happens more often than you think. Visa officers at consulates have absolutely no accountability and they are like small kingdoms in those buildings. They can do whatever they want.
US Consulate staff often has this Facebook live sessions where they peddle complete nonsense like. "You need to prove to us why this college makes sense to you", in fact there is no such legal requirement and these sort of criteria is completely made up.
Indians in USA are often made target of hate crimes. The prominent media will abuse you by calling you parasite, job stealer or brown peril. There are entire websites dedicated to spew hatred against Indians and some journalists have made it their life's mission to abuse Indians.
Remember all the Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepali and Nigerian classmates will get their greencards but you will stay on H1B visa in USA. This is because you are born in India.
US law says that if you are born in large countries like India and China, you can not get your greencard. This is the reason why most Indian-Americans do not get greencard in USA.
Greencard is a must if you want to start your business in USA.
Tech companies in USA work secretly with US administration to make sure their Indian employees always have to stay on a work visa which is tied to their employer. This means you can not quit your job.
